Hilarious!

Assuming your pumpkin was carved for the front porch, to welcome trick-or-treaters, it could be the reverse–thus worse.

One Halloween, not long after moving into this house, I decided to do something different. Instead of leaving the porch-light on, I left it off. But I put two candles out (enclosed in glass, of course). Then I set out my portable CD/cassette player. I played the filmscore from Hitchcock’s “Psycho”, at top-volume. It was a big hit alright, but in the wrong direction. I could even hear one mother say, to her pack of trick-or-treaters, “No, we’re not going to that house!”

Better to err on the non-scary side, if you err at all!

I can’t believe you gave your kid so much input in the carving process. I asked if she wanted happy or scary, and then let her know that she needed to leave the carving artist alone (I use the term artist very loosely). Triangle eyes are the only way to go.

Just be glad you had the fillet knife and not her, as is so often the case. I can just see her culling things out of the garage and announcing she is ready for pumpkins. Things like Addison’s hatchet, a blowtorch, and possibly a skill saw come to mind…

In any case, great job on the jack-o-lantern. At least she didn’t ask for that hissing wicked awful clown right?

Man, I didn’t carve a single pumpkin this year! What a shame! I was thinking of a cool design involving several pumpkins carved to look like a city street. Perhaps next year…
